People Share the Behaviors They Thought Were Normal Until They Realized They Have ADHD

When some people with ADHD feel overwhelmed or over stimulated, they will disengage. This can mean a variety of things, but it usually manifests as looking unaffected and cold. This person explained that their ADHD causes them to feel dread about tasks that need to get done, which prevents them from doing those very tasks. 

Because they’re not getting stuff done, they simultaneously feel really bad and guilty about their lack of action. These two conflicting feelings are too much sometimes, and they end up acting like they don’t care. On the outside, it looks like they are lazy and don’t care. However, inside their feelings are roiling and out of control. Just remember that everyone is going through something, even if we can’t see it.
